There are somethings in common ...and other things becoming less common.

One study says there has been 0.45 degrees temperature change of noticeable warming since studies have begun on the interest in climate change.

But, that is due in fact to the cooling that had preceded the study ...caused by the eruptions of Mexico's El Chichon volcano in 1982 and the Mt. Pinatubo volcano in the Philippines in 1991.

If you subtract that cooling, the warming effect is drastically decreased ...to only 0.09 degrees change in temperature.

Banking institutions also use data to make things appear as they'd like them to appear.  I was watching the trend of a mutual fund for many years.  Their report always boasted of end of the year profits ...and they would print what huge increase they were obtaining.

But, looking further into it, and keeping my own records, I saw that most every beginning of the year there was a severe drop ...and overall the mutual fund changed very little from year to  year.

I saw the same thing happen with the price of gas.  The price would drop, particularly in election years. Then some manufactured crisis would appear ...to make gas prices skyrocket.

Our government would look really good in handling or adjusting to the crisis ...and the price of gasoline would gradually begin to drop.

We would be grateful for each drop in price, though overall the price was still relatively high.

The same thing happens locally.  The Detroit Water and Sewer Department is one of the largest systems in our nation ...providing service to a 946 square mile area, and covering 8 counties.

Localities outside of Detroit often blame Detroit for the exorbitant costs, claiming that it had been Detroit's cash-cow for years.

But, my own community has a large new building complex.  It's always easier when you have someone or something you can point your finger at.

The way I look at it ...almost every way you turn, there is deceit and corruption.

Though I'd like that to change...I realize it seldom does.

And the good???

Yes, what good can come of all this?

Well, it may compel us to direct more of our thoughts to where we can really find trust ...and direct our thoughts and prayers to Him.

Of course, that is sadly becoming less common also.
